BRANSON MO NEWS: Marcus Jones will not be making the trip to Seattle alone.Northwest Missouri State’s All-American cornerback received an invite late Saturday to rookie minicamp with the Seattle Seahawks and will be joined by teammate Clayton Wilson, an All-MIAA tight end.
Jones’ agency, Platinum Football, made the announcement Saturday night. Northwest football announced Wilson’s invite Sunday morning.The 6-foot cornerback played all four years at Northwest and finished his career as a first-team All-American for the Bearcats’ top-ranked defense. He corralled 33 tackles, including 5 1/2 for loss, to go with one interception, 14 pass breakups and a forced fumble.

Jones was an honorable mention All-MIAA pick as a junior with six pass breakups. In 2015, he totaled four pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and a tackle for loss. Jones came to Maryville, Missouri, via North Kansas City High School.Wilson caught six career touchdowns, half coming his sophomore year in 2015 as an All-MIAA honorable mention pick. He hauled in 80 career catches for 694 yards.Matt Longacre (Los Angeles Rams) and Brandon Dixon (New York Giants) are the only other former Bearcats currently in the NFL.
