BRANSON MO NEWS: Through the first three weeks of the season, Georgia limited opponents to just 101 yards per game on the ground, and had yet to allow a rushing touchdown.That changed Saturday as the Tigers’ three-headed running back monster of Damarea Crockett, Larry Rountree III and Tyler Badie, along with some help from quarterback Drew Lock, rushed for 172 yards. Missouri found a way to break through the Bulldogs at the goal line as well. All four players who ran the ball Saturday picked up touchdowns on the ground.After the game, Badie, a true freshman, said Georgia’s firm run defense didn’t affect the team’s game plan. The running backs came in with the same approach they have all season, which he says helped them establish the running game early.
“We know we’ve got to impose our will,” Badie said. “That’s our mindset that we always have. As long as we keep forcing our run game on defenses and trusting the process, we’ll be good.”Georgia’s Kirby Smart didn’t expect his defense to hold Lock without a passing touchdown, which they did – a pleasant surprise for the third-year head coach. But as pleased as Smart was with his secondary, he left Memorial Stadium displeased with his front seven for how it performed against the Tigers.”We pride ourselves on not allowing people to run the ball,” he said. “If you’d have asked me what the most disappointing thing was, it’s that they were able to run the ball on us, especially in the red area.”The Tigers not only moved the ball on the ground against Georgia, but made sure everyone was involved as well.
