BRANSON MO NEWS: SEVIERVILLE — Officials weren’t offering much information Friday about a plane registered to a company affiliated with Dolly Parton’s Stampede that apparently went off the runway after landing at the Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge Airport overnight. The twin engine, eight-seat Cessna was sitting in high grass off the runway early Friday afternoon. Flight records show it left Branson Airport in Branson, Missouri, at 8:24 p.m. central time Thursday and landed here at 10:38 p.m., during heavy rains.Airport manager Emily Hahn said airport personnel were not present when the plane landed; planes often land at the airport while the fix-based operator is closed. There was no damage to the plane and no injuries were reported, Hahn said. She declined to provide additional information on the incident Friday.Airport officials have been working for some time to extend the runway, saying they need more space for planes landing there now.
A spokesperson for the FAA said Friday they were aware of the incident and were investigating it.The plane is registered to Eatertainment Co, with an address on Airport Road in Sevierville. The Tennessee Secretary of State’s website lists Ryan Hardwick in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, as Eatertainment Co’s “principal office.” Hardwick is a vice president for World Choice Investments, the company that owns Dolly Parton’s Stampede as well as other affiliated dinner theaters, with locations in both Branson and Pigeon Forge. When reached for comment, a spokesperson with World Choice Investments said they had no information on the incident.
