BRANSON MISSOURI NEWS: Shy, quiet Bill Chrastil dreaded the first day of school every single year. Year after year, as teacher after teacher spent what felt like minutes mangling the pronunciation of his last name, he sunk lower and lower in his seat, knowing he’d have to draw even more unwanted attention to himself by speaking up and pronouncing it correctly.Now performing — singing, playing guitar and often gyrating Elvis-style on stage — roughly 280 performances a year, Chrastil still deals with the mispronunciation of his last name when he’s introduced for shows around the country.He’s still a bit reticent when it comes to talking about himself, but he now can laugh off the mispronunciation.
