“I have traveled 49 of our 50 states. (Alaska is on my bucket list!) I have driven in all 48 contiguous United States. You see, my husband and I traveled by motor home. Hence, driving all the 48 states. I love to travel because of the diversity. The diversity of landscape, diversity of food and especially, the diversity of people. It is such a joy to meet and talk with people from different parts of the country. We loved to eat at a small local restaurant and speak with “the locals”. We would talk about agriculture, employment, recreation, etc.
But, the most wonderful experience of our travels are the National Parks.”

“I completed travel to all 50 states when we arrived in Anchorage, Alaska, in 2011. When I realized that I had been in 40 states, including travel with my parents and siblings, I then made it a goal to get to all 50. While we did fly to many western states, my wife and I also drove to a majority of them while pulling a medium-sized travel trailer. We visited many national parks and monuments plus many presidential homes, libraries and museums if they were close to our travel route. A few travel highlights have been my rafting the Colorado River through Utah and also in the Grand Canyon, hiking to almost 13,000 feet on Long’s Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park; watching the geysers erupt in Yellowstone; snow skiing in six states; and seeing the sun rise and set in many beautiful places. And of course, we have enjoyed seeing so much wildlife: moose, eagles, bears, caribou, dolphins, alligators, etc. And of course, we’ve met wonderful, friendly people from all …
