BRANSON MO NEWS: Funeral services for Roy Combs, 86, of Taneyville, will be held May 12, 2018, 2:30 p.m., at the White River Association Youth Camp with Pastor Terry Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Helphrey Cemetery in Taneyville. Arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory in Branson.He died May 8, 2018. 

Roy was born on Sept.13, 1931, in Kissee Mills. He graduated from Forsyth in 1948 and later attended Missouri State University, formerly SMSU. He served during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He married Letha Coyeta Shrum, April 5, 1958, in Branson. He served 25 years with the Kansas City Police Department. He moved back to this area in 1982. He was a member of Branson East Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served as head deacon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie B. Combs; sisters, Pauline Earring and Irene Rinker and one granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Sherry L. Sharpnack and husband John, of Lincoln, Neb. and one granddaughter. Memorials may be sent to Branson East Seventh-day Adventist Church, 6200 East Hwy. 76, Kirbyville, Mo. 65679.
