SBU’s Stillwagon to be honored by MSHOF

Southwest Baptist University graduate Dana Ozbun Stillwagon will receive the Wynn Award during the Missouri State Hall of Fame’s Women’s Sports Luncheon Wednesday, March 28, in Springfield.Stillwagon is one of seven recipients of the Wynn Award, to go with seven inductees and the President’s Award winner.Stillwagon, a Doniphian High School graduate, was a three-sport athlete at SBU in volleyball, basketball and softball from 1983 to 1987, according to a news release. She was an NAIA all-American as a sophomore, multiple all-conference selection and all-district 16 selection. In basketball, her 682 rebounds is second in SBU history, and second-most at the time of her graduation. She scored 971 points in 100 career games and was all-MIAA. Stillwagon played one season of softball for the Bearcats.

Stillwagon currently works for Duck Creek Technologies in Bolivar.Also receiving the Wynn Award are Shelley Seider Davis (Rich Hill High School, Pittsburg State); Brianne McGurick Madura (Missouri State); The Opfer Sisters of Glendale High School — Lorin Fiehler, Alix and Kasey; Brenda Hayes Raynor (Branson HS, Missouri State); Trudi Garrett Spain (Missouri State track and field); and Bri Walsh (Clever HS, Missouri State-West Plains, Evangel University).The President’s Award will go to Jacquie Dowdy, CEO of the John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts.

The Class of 2018 includes the Diamond High School volleyball program, Michelle Langsford Dickemann (Springfield Central High School and Drury University swimmer), Ann Gulshen (Eldon and Camdenton high school volleyball coach), Lynette Robinson (Missouri State women’s basketball assistant coach), the Missouri Southern State University women’s track and field program and the Missouri Southern State University cross country program.The luncheon and induction ceremony will start at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at the University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield.
