Silver Dollar City took time Sept. 3 to honor and pay respects to 300 Gold Star family members. The memorial service honored a total of 59 fallen veterans. A Gold Star mother spoke at the event, as well as Missouri Lt. Gov. Michael Parson. Throughout September, Silver Dollar City offered free admission to police, firefighters, EMTs and current or retired military personnel. The month concluded with a Memorial Stair Climb at Echo Hollow Amphitheater in remembrance of the New York City firefighters lost on Sept. 11, 2001. Silver Dollar City knows how to represent the Tri-Lakes Area with class and dignity. They’ve been doing it for a long time.
