BRANSON MO NEWS: William Shatner, author, producer, director, recording artist and star of iconic fare including “Star Trek,” T.J. Hooker,” “Rescue 911,” “Boston Legal” and more than 230 other films and TV shows, is gearing up for his first ever Branson appearance, set for Oct. 27 at the Welk Resort Theatre.
Shatner is set to perform a one-man production called “Shatner’s World: We Just Live In It,” which began in 2012 in Australia, and was eventually performed on Broadway, in Las Vegas, as well as throughout the country. In advance of Shatner’s appearance next month, Entertainment Writer Joshua Clark spoke with the iconic entertainer on the phone.
Joshua Clark: Hello sir, how are you doing?
William Shatner: I’m really well. I’m taking this play out, which means I’ll be coming to Branson, and I’m competing in horse shows (Shatner is a lifelong horse lover and owns an equestrian farm in Kentucky), I’ve been doing some work on a series that was on last year called ‘Better Late Than Never,’ and we spent six weeks in Europe to make a season that is coming out in January, and after you and I talk, I’m headed out to do some more work on that with Henry Winkler.
I’m also playing (Batman villain) Two-Face in an animated film (‘Batman vs. Two-Face’). Over the years I’ve done a lot of voice work for either radio, or animated films, in fact, I have another animated movie coming out, as well (‘Aliens Ate My Homework’).
This voice work is really interesting … It’s a whole different sensation just listening to a person rather than seeing them.
This is also Adam West’s (who died earlier this year) last ‘Batman’ movie, and I get to play the villain.
J.C.: I’m thinking …
