Shooting clays event to raise funds for conservation

The Conservation Federation of Missouri will host its second annual Pull for Conservation in St. Joseph as a regional shooting clays event that will serve as a fundraiser for the group.Brandon Butler, executive director of the federation, said the shooting sports event will be presented by the Northwest Electric Power Cooperative Inc. Butler said the group formed a partnership with the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives and has held a pull for conservation shoot in Boonville, Missouri, for more than 10 years.The event will be shotgun clay pigeon shooting only at Camp Geiger Shooting Range. The categories consist of individual and team shooting opportunities with prizes for the top placers.

“CFM hosts pulls for conservation in multiple cities across the state, and we’re always looking for the right facility to host our event and we haven’t found many that compare to the level of quality and opportunity that the Geiger’s Boy Scouts facility in St. Joe offers,” Butler said. “It’s really a state-of-the-art facility, and we appreciate the opportunity to hold our event there.”He said the group also will hold its first event in Branson, Missouri, this year.Butler said proceeds from the …
