SMAC Art Center hosts Grand Opening Exhibit
Hollister, MO—The Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) will celebrate the grand opening of their new art center and gallery with a reception for the first art show in their Branson Underground Gallery, a SMAC Members’ Exhibit. The reception, which is open to the public, will be July 3, from 6-9 p.m. at the SMAC Art Center, 7 Downing Street, Hollister. The reception will be held in conjunction with the Hollister First Friday Art Walk. The exhibit will continue to run throughout July.
With 28 artists displaying in the exhibit, there is sure to be something for everyone. The art ranges from pottery and glass pieces to abstract and representational paintings. “There is such a wide range of ideas and artistic expression,” SMAC president Tenille Blair Neff said. “I’m so impressed with the caliber of work that has been submitted for this show.”
Currently, summer art camps are ongoing in the center’s education center, artists are moving into the private studio spaces, some of which will be open to view during the gallery reception), and the finishing touches are being added to the building renovations. Once complete,the SMAC Art Center will be the first of its kind in the Branson region and the only area gallery to host changing exhibitions.
