BRANSON MO NEWS: SOMERVILLE’S Genevieve Beacom has made baseball history, becoming the first girl to play for Australia in the Cal Ripken World Series.Thrust into the spotlight, 12-year-old Genevieve made even more history when she was the starting pitcher in a game against Canada in the tournament in Branson Missouri, USA.Genevieve enjoyed every moment, summing up the whole experience as “really good fun”.She said being the only female on the Aussie side wasn’t an issue.“Not really.
