BRANSON MO NEWS: The results of a statewide “Sunshine Law Review” found that Taney County Ambulance District and Kirbyville School District were not fully in compliance to the Sunshine Law standards.
A study showing whether or not governmental organizations in Missouri are compliant to Sunshine Law standards and requests was released by the Missouri State Auditor’s Office Tuesday.
The study’s objectives included sending a letter from a private citizen to political subdivisions asking for public records such as minutes of the last board meeting held in 2015, as well as a notice and agenda.
“Political subdivisions were also asked to provide the name and contact information for the custodian of records. In addition, they were asked to respond if the entity had a policy or ordinance regarding recording of public meetings, and, if so, to provide a copy of the policy or ordinance,” the study’s summary states.
The Taney County Ambulance District did not respond within a three-day time frame, as per Sunshine Law, regarding a request sent August of this year.
