BRANSON MO NEWS: Adam Salas. Courtesy of Adam SalasĀ Country music could have a new star ready to shine. Remember the name Adam Salas – he will be our featured performer on the Oct. 20, live Take 10 on our Gazette News Facebook platform in the noon hour. Salas said his influences include Garth Brooks, George Strait, Jim Croce, James Taylor and The Eagles. Salas said when it comes to Croce, “it’s the softness of his messages that are rooted in country morals.” Salas referred to the song, “Walking Back to Georgia,” in which Croce talks about coming home to where his roots are and settling down with the girl he loves. “Part of the simplicity of that song is what speaks to country music,” he said. Salas plays acoustic guitar and says he’s been singing as long as he could talk. He picked up the guitar as a sophomore in high school and kept working at it. Salas says he is the kind of guy who likes being involved with the crowd, joking with them and playing to the energy of the room. He’s been playing professionally since he graduated high school in 2016 and knows that this is the career he wants to pursue. As a college student, Salas knows how to balance his career aspirations with his education, “The dream is to play at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry in 10 years. I want to go there or Branson, Missouri, where the big boys play. You need to know what’s ahead of you and make sure you focus on getting it.” This fourth-generation Colorado native will be playing live on the Friday’s Oct.20, Take 10. If you, like Salas, are driven to perform live, email eric.singer@gazette.com so I can see what you do and get you on a future live Take 10 performance for …
