With a 4-3 win over New Zealand on Thursday, the Hudson 12-and-under Cal Ripken baseball team advanced to the semifinals of the Iron Bracket at the Cal Ripken World Series in Branson, Missouri.
The Hudson 12-and-under Cal Ripken baseball team played a win-or-go-home game at the Cal Ripken World Series in Branson, Missouri, for the second straight day on Thursday.
And Hudson won for the second straight day.
Hudson topped New Zealand 4-3 on Thursday in its first game against an international team, after beating Southeast Denver 3-0 on Wednesday.
Hudson will next play either Canada or Moss Point, Mississippi, the Southwest Regional representative, at 3 p.m. Central time on Friday in the semifinals of the Iron Bracket. Canada and Moss Point will meet at 10 a.m. Central time on Friday before the winner moves on to face Hudson.
Hudson went 1-2 in Group A to finish in third place in the group.
The third- and fourth-place teams from group play are competing in the Iron Bracket, while the teams that finished in first and second place in group play are competing in the Championship Bracket.
Should Hudson win its game on Friday, it would play for the Iron Bracket championship on Saturday at 10 a.m. Central time.
