The Missouri-set event will be unveiling a John Huston Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Midwest is set to get a little dose of Hollywood in September.
The first annual Ozark Mountain Webfest is slated to be held in Branson, Missouri, a town known for its live entertainment. The event, which will focus on new media and web series, is set to run Sept. 28-30. It will include screenings and panels and conclude with the 1st Annual OMWF Award Ceremony.
Guests confirmed to attend include Val Kilmer, who will be on hand for a Sept. 29 screening of Cinema Twain, a feature film version of his one-man show in which he plays Mark Twain. Filmmaker Adam Rifkin, director of the recent Burt Reynolds film The Last Movie Star, is also set to attend.
The inaugural festival will also launch the John Huston Lifetime Achievement Award, and will be announcing its first recipient in the near future.
“Many people don’t realize that Mr. Huston was born in Nevada, Missouri,” said Last Movie Star actress Shelley Waggener, who is CEO and co-director of the fest. “We are extremely honored that the Huston family has given us their blessing to honor the memory of their patriarch.”
The Huston family will have final approval on the recipient.
