Cardinals wary of two-win <b>Branson</b> team

John Roderique insists his Webb City Cardinals won’t look past the host Branson Pirates and their subpar record tonight at 7 in the regular season finale.Branson enters the matchup at 2-6 overall, with just one win in league play.But Roderique and his Cardinals are well aware of what kind of season it’s been in the Central Ozark Conference-Large Division — anything can happen on any given night.
Also, the Pirates have hung tough in most of their losses.“They’ve been able to play with about everybody in our conference,” Roderique said. “They’ve come up short several times, but they’ve played almost everybody in our league fairly close. They’ve been in almost every game.”Ranked No. 8 in Class 4 by the Missouri Media, Webb City is now 5-3 on the season and 4-3 in league play.Hindered by turnovers throughout the season, Webb City is still working to put together a complete offensive performance. Webb City has now lost 21 fumbles this year.Roderique said he hopes his team can limit mistakes tonight, especially with the postseason on the horizon.“We really want to play a clean game,” Roderique said. “It’s hard to realize your …
