BRANSON MO NEWS: Columbus Women’s ClubCOLUMBUS — The Columbus Women’s Club met Oct. 10 at the Columbus Public Library auditorium with 25 members and one guest, Cindee Wachter. Fred Hoppe gave an interesting slideshow presentation on his sculptures and also the Veterans Museum in Branson, Missouri. President Deb Hamling presided over the meeting. Reading of the minutes and the treasurer’s report were followed by committee reports. Festival of Trees committees gave their reports for the Nov. 17-20 event to be held in the Columbus Art Gallery. Each member was asked to sign up for work shifts, and each member will bake cookies for the dessert room as well as bring items to sell in the sweet shop. Members are responsible for selling advanced discounted tickets. Member volunteers will put up posters and yard signs to advertise the event. Membership chairman Imogene Jilek recognized members celebrating October birthdays. President Hamling thanked the following hostesses for this meeting: Connie Cumberland, Gloria Phillips, Phyllis Wragge and Pat Perry. The next meeting will be Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. in the library auditorium. The Columbus Women’s Club meets the second Monday at 1 p.m., September through May.
