Crime Spree in Branson Lands Man in Prison for 20 Years

A man from Oklahoma man who went on a crime spree in Branson and Springfield in early January, 2016 is sentenced to 20 years in federal prison without parole.  Alberto Colina, Jr. of Muskogee was found guilty of a carjacking in Branson, then later forcing his way into an apartment and terrorizing a grandmother and her granddaughter.He later fled to Springfield, where he stole another vehicle.  He was eventually apprehended after breaking into a church.  According to the United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, Colina had six prior felony convictions.  He pleaded guilty in a separate state case in Taney County to robbery, two counts of armed criminal action and assault. The court also ordered Colina to pay $2,500 in victim restitution.On Sept. 21, 2017, Colina pleaded guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and one count of stealing a firearm. According to court documents, Colina started his crime spree on Jan. 5, 2016, by stealing a truck in Branson, Mo.
