Deadly motorcycle accident
BRANSON MO NEWS: BRANSON, Mo. — At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Saturday emergency crews responded to reports of a head-on accident in the area of State Highway 165 and New Berry Road in Branson.
Responders found the accident involved a motorcycle and an SUV. The motorcycle driven by Rickey Wayne Maass, Jr of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was seriously injured, requiring immediate life-saving efforts.
Maass was transported to Cox Medical Center South where he was pronounced deceased.
Initial investigation revealed that the motorcycle driven by Maass failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into oncoming traffic where it struck an SUV head-on.
Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the cause of the accident.
