County commissions in each county and the Collier School Board don’t meet this week.In Florida, Constitution Revision Commission committee meetings are scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the capital. The 37-member panel is determining which proposed state constitutional amendments should go on the 2018 ballot.The nine-member education committee, with two Naples representatives in Erika Donalds and Tom Grady, meets twice this week. More information: www.flcrc.govCollier CountyHalloween played tricks on Marco City Council’s original plans to select the top choice for city manager Nov. 1.When the council thankfully agreed to again give citizens an opportunity to meet the finalists, it would have meant a Halloween event Tuesday. Instead, citizens will be treated to a meet-and-greet – sensibly scaled back from what was done in a failed summertime search – at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the community room on Bald Eagle Drive where council meets. The finalists then will interview individually with council members Thursday, followed by a 6 p.m. session in the community room to choose the top candidate to pursue in contract negotiations.Unlike the last round when one of two finalists withdrew, as of Monday all four choices remained in the running, a city official said.
