BRANSON MO NEWS:
The Ellington Senior Beta Club attended the 2017 Missouri State Convention in Springfield Dec. 1 and 2.
The Missouri Convention was moved this year from Branson due to the growth of the National Beta Club throughout the state. Attendance at the convention had outgrew the theaters in Branson.
This also brought about a change in date for the convention, from the traditional weekend in March to this weekend, the only time the larger venue was available in Springfield.
Ellington Beta is sponsored by Jennifer Grimes, Dustie Schweighauser and Becky Foster. They took 51 students to the convention to compete in various categories. Students must maintain good grades and also complete 20 hours of community service to qualify to attend the convention.
The living literature team, Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Albert would like to give a special thanks to: Gastineau Hardware, Russell Albert, Adam and Brandi McClanahan, Wendy McNail, Keria Morton, Ceclie Goodman, and the Custodial and Kitchen Staffs at School. – “Without all the help, this would not have been possible.”
These students qualified to compete against other states’ winners at the National Convention, held in Savannah, Ga. in June 2018.
