This high-temperature mark was also set in what turned out to be a blistering 2012 for Springfield.Gaede said high temperatures for the rest of the week would be “pretty close” to existing records through May. However, the outlook for the next three months called for near-normal temperatures except the very southwest corner of Missouri near Joplin, Gaede said.He advised that people wear light-weight clothing, drink plenty of water and generally slow down when the mercury rises. “It’s just a matter of taking it easy when it gets real hot,” he said. MORE WEATHER TIPS: CLOSE
