BRANSON MO NEWS: SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The National Weather Radio is now broadcasting out of Springfield again — but only to residents of Greene County. The National Weather Service lost a transmitter for NOAA radio when a broadcast tower collapsed in Fordland, Missouri last week. Now the limited broadcast range available is because of the low power and limited tower height of a backup plan.  A radius of that broadcast is 15 to 20 miles around the office here in Springfield. The Weather Service is asking for residents outside Greene county to still look for other frequencies while they continue work to restore full power. The Fordland tower serves radios in Barry, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Laclede, Lawrence, Polk, Stone, Taney, Webster, and Wright counties. courtesy: NOAA Copyright 2018 Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc.
