Parson Indicates He May Support Gas Tax Hike

BRANSON NEWS: WASHINGTON, D.C.  – Missouri’s new Governor and  Ozarks native Mike Parson — met with several mayors across the state — including Branson Mayor Karen Best.    It was apart of the Missouri Mayors United For Progress meeting at the state capitol Tuesday. Parson say’s he wants to take the first steps to bridge the divide between urban and rural Missouri by meeting with local leaders to address issues facing our communities.One topic that came up…Transportation.Here’s what the governor said when asked if he would support the phased-in ten-cent bump in the fuel tax…”I’m gonna be supportin’ infrastructure in the state of Missouri.  And yes, if that’s part of the infrastructure plan, we’re gonna be supportin’ infrastructure in the state.”    Governor Parson also described low income housing tax credits as essential to the needs of rural Missouri.  He’ll be developing a commission to study the credits.
