Table Rock Lake's shoreline management plan: Resident claims no public representation

BRANSON MO NEWS: At least one resident claims the Army Corps of Engineers is not doing enough to involve the public in a process to update Table Rock Lake’s shoreline management plan.

A retired district commander of the Missouri State Water Patrol, Gary Haupt, has been involved in this process since the very beginning last year. In response to an ongoing petition and a legislative bill underway regarding potential updates to the lake shoreline management plan, Haupt spoke with the Branson Tri-Lakes News Wednesday.

Haupt claims that there has been no public representation regarding the potential changes to the Table Rock Lake Shoreline Management Plan by the Little Rock District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Some of the proposed changes include limiting public access to lake property, marinas and docks, according to Branson Tri-Lakes News archives.

The process for rewriting the plan has been in the works for at least 12 to 24 months, according to Haupt. The management plan has not has been completely revised since it was originally written in 1996.
